The Good
We were off to an amazing start with the Mushroom Arancini and the Salt and Pepper Calamari.
The Calamari was absolute perfection. Lightly seasoned simply with salt and pepper, the Calamari was incredibly tender and meaty. Without so much as a hint of chewiness, the fresh cuts of squid offered a hint of bouncy feedback and was a joy to devour.
The Mushroom Arancini were equally impressive. The round, lightly crusted balls enclosed an inner of soft arborio rice that carried a bold and forward mushroom aroma. The beautiful fragrance of fresh mushrooms, coupled by the soft pillowy texture, made this extremely enjoyable.
We then dug into the T17 Special. Aptly named after the restaurant, the pizza features a cheese base that’s loaded with delicious goodness like San Daniele Prosciutto and home made truffle cream. The truffle flavour of the house made truffle cream was forward though could’ve been a bit bolder, which was well accompanied by the thinly sliced, very delicate San Daniele Prosciutto that carried a beautiful meaty sensation. Coupled with melted cheese and a light yet puffy crust, this was a tasty pizza that’s perfect with a drizzle of chilli oil.
We also enjoyed the Pork Sausage Pizza. On top of the thin, hand stretched base, the San Marzano tomato sauce was sweet and fragrant. This was complemented by tasty chunks of Italian pork sausage and juicy slices of mushrooms, all held together by the creamy though not overly rich fior di latte. However the slices of roast potatoes on top felt a bit out of place, and it’s earthy flavour profile didn’t quite compliment the rest of the pizza.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
