The Good

It was a great start with the Pork and Beans. Served in a generously sized cast iron pan, the bubbling hot Baked Eggs was simply stunning. The rich and fragrant tomato base was filled to the brim with plenty of nutty and earthy beans, paired with bits of pulled ham hock offering a beautiful savoury sensation. Coupled with plenty of goats cheese providing depth in flavour and a rich creaminess, as well as two eggs, this was a hearty meal that relentlessly delivered on flavour. The two slices of toast as perfect to soak up the sauces, though we definitely would’ve liked an even saucier base.

Our Pulled Brisket Baguette certainly didn’t disappoint either. The brioche roll was topped with plenty of french fries and dressed with a creamy bernaise sauce. Hidden within was a generous helping of delicious beef brisket slow cooked to perfection. The red wine jus along with the beefy flavour was absolutely sensational and so fragrant, and the roll acted as a sponge to soak up all the beautiful juices. Delicious.

The Mediocre

Nothing.

The Bad

Nothing.

The Verdict

Bustling on a Sunday afternoon, Hobba has long been on out to-do list, and we are so glad to have finally made it.

The seemingly simple menu was well executed and far from ordinary. Offering generous, delicious portions, our brunch certainly not disappoint one bit, and left us satiated and satisfied in every way.
