The Good
The Chips were the one genuine bright spot of our meal. Served hot and nicely seasoned, they offered a wonderfully crisp exterior that made them an enjoyable accompaniment. A simple side, but easily the best-executed item we sampled.
The Mediocre
The Mixed Giro, combining chicken and lamb, was considerably less exciting. Although passable, neither meat delivered the distinctive smoky, charcoal-grilled character we would expect from a well-regarded Greek restaurant. The result was ordinary and largely forgettable.
The Bad
The Moussaka was a tremendous disappointment, arriving cold in the centre despite its $35 price tag. For a substantial sit-down dish at that cost, such a basic failure in serving temperature was very difficult to overlook.
The Verdict
It was disheartening to leave such a well-known Melbourne establishment feeling so underwhelmed. The chips were enjoyable, but the unremarkable grilled meats and cold moussaka simply did not justify the prices. The atmosphere may retain its appeal, yet the food gave us little reason to queue for a full meal. We would look elsewhere for a Greek dinner.
