The Good
We were off to a fantastic start with the Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict. Topped with two of the tastiest free range eggs, the gorgeous drizzle of creamy smoked chilli hollandaise drizzled down into the generous helping of pulled pork. The pulled pork was just sensational, offering a good amount of sweetness and smokey sensation, and exhibited an incredibly tender and succulent texture. Underneath sat a giant potato rosti with a delightfully crisp outer. A hearty and very appetising dish indeed.
We also enjoyed the House Toasted Granola. With the saffron poached pear standing front and centre, the vibrant colours made for an equally enjoyable granola. The granola was well behaved in sweetness, offering an incredible crunch that was nicely contrasted by the pillowy poached pear. All held together by a creamy maple yoghurt and accompanied by fresh strawberries, this was a healthy alternative that offers no compromise.
Another highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the Strawberry Meringue Pancakes. Stacked two-high, the pancakes were delightfully fluffy. With an almost spongy, airy quality, the pancakes were nicely juxtaposed by the crisp meringue and dehydrated strawberries. Thanks to a generous helping of vanilla custard and lemon mascarpone adding a creamy sweetness to the dish, this felt like a light and perfect ending to our meal.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
With each dish meticulously thought out and superbly executed, this no doubt formed one or the best brunches we’ve had for a long while. The flawless pairing and contrasts in flavours and textures, coupled with top quality ingredients, served by warm and hospitable hosts, you bet this was a memorable meal!
