Burger Boss Co (Ballarat)

- The Boss Burger
The Good
Barryl’s Dream was the better of the two burgers, largely thanks to its substantial piece of fried chicken. The coating offered an enjoyable crunch, enclosing meat that was juicy and tender, although the overall flavour was rather subdued. Its accompanying fries were crunchy but also unusually hard, suggesting they had been fried more than once. Still, at $15 for the sandwich, snack-sized fries and a canned drink, the bundle represented reasonable value.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
The Boss Burger was a thoroughly disappointing affair. So small that we briefly questioned whether a slider had been delivered, it contained an exceptionally thin beef patty that was overcooked and left an unpleasant aftertaste. At $16.50, there was simply no justification for either the meagre size or the poor execution.
The Verdict
Burger Boss Co left us with sharply contrasting impressions. The friendly, attentive staff and reasonably priced chicken bundle were welcome positives, but the bland chicken and hard fries were hardly flawless. The tiny, overcooked beef burger was the real disappointment, especially at its asking price. We would look elsewhere for a proper burger feed in Ballarat.
