Rosso Coffee Experience

Food
- Huevos Benny
- Steak Frites open sandwich
- Flat White (Santorio Project)
- Filter (V60) from Finca El Obraje, Colombia
The Good
The Huevos Benny was the highlight of our meal. A tender, generous helping of brisket was full of flavour, soft and succulent. The perfectly poached egg and hollandaise worked well together, dropping onto a thick, crispy potato hash with a comforting soft inner and a crisp outer, all held together by smashed avo. Sensational.
We also enjoyed the unconventional take on the Steak Frites open sandwich. The thinly julienned heap of fried potatoes was crisp and crunchy, while hidden beneath the stracciatella sat a huge portion of tender, flavoursome porterhouse, juicy and full of beefy goodness. It all sat on toasted sourdough that soaked up every last drop of juice. Delicious.
The Flat White (Santorio Project) was amazing, with a beautiful fragrance and a slightly nutty note. Creamy and milky. Very good.
The Filter (V60) from Finca El Obraje in Colombia was outstanding. Beautiful fruity notes, with a tad of sourness that never tipped into tart. Very enjoyable.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
Rosso made for a thoroughly enjoyable brunch, with everything we ordered landing well. The Huevos Benny was the clear highlight, though the unconventional steak frites sandwich wasn’t far behind. The coffees held their own too, particularly the fruity filter. Well worth a visit for anyone after a proper brunch alongside their coffee.
