Food
- Chicken Parmigiana
The Good
We started with the classic Chicken Parmigiana, and found it a thoroughly respectable country pub offering. The chicken was tender and juicy beneath a beautifully crunchy crumb, generously covered in stretchy melted cheese. Unfortunately, the napoli sauce had a distinctly canned flavour and lacked the freshness and richness we had hoped for. Alongside, the chips were suitably crisp with a fluffy inner, although those trapped beneath the chicken had become soggy. The fresh, lightly dressed salad served its purpose without offering anything particularly memorable.
The Mediocre
Nothing.
The Bad
Nothing.
The Verdict
The Inverleigh Hotel delivered a decent pub meal, with a nicely cooked parma and some very enjoyable chips. Its sauce could certainly do with more care, while the accompanying salad was straightforward enough. Most staff were warm and welcoming, although one less-than-friendly encounter detracted from the hospitality. Worth a stop if passing through Inverleigh, but we would not make a special journey for the food alone.
